Home décor & rice waste

Home décor & rice waste

Ongoing workshops! We are rigorously working on the project “Agricultural waste as raw textile and design material in the municipality of Kochani.”

In the same group, together with our forerunner of the “home décor & rice waste” 2-day’ workshop Marija Joshevska @mmcreations.art, we made vases at the “Ljupcho Santov” high school in Kochani.
Marija Joshevska from Bitola, started her small business for innovative eco-candles made of soy wax. Her innovation also contributed to an increasing number of eco-businesses in Macedonia.
As our mentor, she helped us make biodegradable molds for vases from 3D printers; we created cement vessels including rice husk and straw, and then filled them with soy wax. This type of wax does not emit harmful chemicals, and is thus a sustainable alternative. Moreover, it contains high-quality concentrated, undiluted fragrant oils that do not contain alcohol.

With this, we have shown just one more way to use renewable resources and, to our great pleasure, to transfer those skills to young students.

Еducational activities for youth are supported by the project @obrazovanie_za_vrabotuvanje, a Swiss government supported project.

The project is carried out by the Macedonian Fashion Association and the Association of Citizens for Cultural and Artistic Activities Odonata. The project is implemented within the framework of the Regional Program for Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 – ReLOaD2 is financed by the Delegation of the European Union, Skopje, and it is implemented by the UNDP MK.
