During the first workshop dedicated to learning about the ancient techniques of traditional pottery, the “Partenija Zografski” school centar was visited by Slobodan Stoleski from the village Vraneshtitsa, considered to be one of the best masters in this ancient craft.
Under his mentorship, the students gained a real wealth of knowledge and skills in pottery, a craft that has existed in our country for thousands of years. Step by step they were discovering all the secrets about making authentic Macedonian clay products. Then proceeded to make their first plates and pitchers with great love, hard work and dedication.
With support of @obrazovanie_za_vrabotuvanje, three purpose-made pottery wheels were supplied to remain in permanent ownership of the school, so that the youngsters can further train and upgrade themselves in this activity, as well as to create new works of art in the spirit of tradition.
By nurturing and drawing inspiration from cultural heritage, the educational activities within the “RESPONSIBLE FUTURE: CRAFTING YOUTH EMPOWERMENT” project aim to open career paths for young people with hearing loss in a wide range of creative industries.
