This March, during Fashion Weekend Skopje, we had the opportunity to present a pilot case Bastet Noir from the Just Fashion EU Project as part of the public talk “3D and AI in Fashion.
The session explored how 3D technologies and Artificial Intelligence are reshaping the future of fashion design, production, and customization—bringing together innovation, creativity, and sustainability. Together with Daniela Milosheska, Creative Director of Bastet Noir, we discussed how made to order fashion can scale through virtual customization and digital prototyping—demonstrating how technology enables more efficient, personalized, and sustainable production models.
“We design for a woman who is constantly on the move—seeking comfort, adaptability, and functional wardrobe.” Daniela shared first impressions and mid-term results from the pilot case, highlighting key challenges and turning points in the process.
“We realized early on that scaling a decentralized production model is complex—what worked before was no longer sustainable.”
The conversation further emphasized how innovation often emerges from constraint: “Frequent travel inspired the need for smarter garments—pieces that simplify movement while maintaining functionality and style.” This led to the development of a modular design approach: “A single garment transforms from a trench into a separate cropped jacket and skirt, responding to different contexts and needs.”
The pilot also reflects a strong commitment to circularity and responsible production: “By integrating 3D pattern-making, made-to-order production, and local manufacturing, we reduce waste while maintaining quality and control.”
The event concluded with a showcase of the pilot capsule collection developed within the project—bringing these concepts to life through tangible design solutions.
A special thank you to all participants, collaborators, and attendees who contributed to this inspiring exchange. We continue to welcome designers, researchers, innovators, students, and industry professionals to join the conversation around the future of digital fashion and technology-driven design.
