IPA-CBS cross border project

IPA-CBS cross border project

From December 2019, Textile Trade Association of Macedonia – Textile cluster in collaboration with MFA organising  mentoring activity “Days of the textile industry in the cross border region – promotion among young generations as a part of the Project “MODERN TEXTILE INDUSTRY AS ATTRACTIVE CAREER PATH FOR YOUNG GENERATIONS AND CONTRIBUTOR FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL PROSPERITY OF CROSS BORDER REGION” implemented in the East Planning Region and Kyustendil Region (Interreg – IPA CBC Bulgaria- North Macedonia).

Together with the mentor and fashion designer Irina Tosheva we shared experience and knowledge of textile with the pupils in high schools in North Macedonia: “Dimitar Miraschiev” (Stip), “Aco Ruskovski” (Berovo), “Mile Janevski Dzingar” (Makedonska Kamenica), “Vancho Prke” (Vinica) and “Metodi Mitevski-Brico” (Delchevo) as well as the Faculty of Technology at the University “Goce Delchev” (Stip).

Activity: mentoring sessions and visiting the factories.

We talked about sustainable fashion, circular economy, presenting them a variety of finishing techniques, as inspiration for textile waste designs, which are being prepared for a big joint fashion show, in the cradle of textile city, Stip.

We met wonderful professors, who fight huge challenges daily, motivate themselves and keep motivating their pupils. The number of enrolled pupils in these areas are overwhelming.
We visited three primary schools in Vinica, Stip and Berovo and educated students about CEOs of smart factories and the production process in general. We visited and we closely monitored the production process of B2B factories: Bell Mode, Linea and Poloteks.
Projects like this are a motive and incentive to showcase the textile industry as an attractive career path and a contributor to economic development. Our project key objectives are to provide professional education covering the whole spectrum of activities in fashion and textiles, and develop “all-round” graduates with vision and a global outlook, a sense of social responsibility, critical and creative thinking ability. Our goal is that new generation of fashion designers and engineers lead and enhance the development of the fashion and textile industry in the country.

Pre-final activity, October 2020, fitting time:

Next activity – 24 October 2020 – Group Fashion Show in Stip, Macedonia.
