Art & zero waste.

Art & zero waste.

In the past period, together with Viktorija Miteva and Orhan Kamilov from the Association of Citizens for Cultural and Artistic Activities “ODONATA ,” we held two-day workshops where the participants started their creations.

From the rice waste, we made rice paper with recycled materials such as dried flowers to make a variety of paper structures. This small experiment of adding recycled materials will hopefully contribute to the result-creations.

In addition to rice paper, we also started with the first steps of art objects. We pressed them under a printing press with finely machine-processed rice husk, straw, and natural glue from rice flour.

Next step for the following workshop: make several prototype tiles from the material and later paint them with environmentally pigmented paints.

In addition to strengthening cross-sector cooperation, we raise awareness among adults and youth about the great opportunities offered to us through the use of renewable sources of rice waste in various industries and build capacities and professional skills.

Еducational activities for youth are supported by the project @obrazovanie_za_vrabotuvanje, a Swiss government supported project.

The project is carried out by the Macedonian Fashion Association and the Association of Citizens for Cultural and Artistic Activities Odonata @odonata_association_ . The project is implemented within the framework of the Regional Program for Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 – ReLOaD2 is financed by the Delegation of the European Union, Skopje, and it is implemented by the UNDP MK.
