We have completed another successful two-day workshop. The participants in our project “Agricultural waste as raw textile and design material in the municipality of Kochani” continued their activities in “Malina Popivanova” in Kochani. The mentor of this workshop was the well-known Anita Gaj, the founder of the Lotus Lounge Chair brand.
What started as theoretical teaching later turned into practice and an excellent finished product. With the participants, we discussed various topics, starting from how the new generation should direct their thinking about new design ideas to how they can be healthy for our environment and sustainable at the same time.
The next step was to make three eco lounge chairs. We used linen for the cover, filling them with rice husk and straw. What was important was to show the participants another way to use natural materials in design production.
And, of course, apart from making a tremendous modern line, the participants additionally developed new creative skills for further design education and career.
Educational activities for youth are supported by the project @obrazovanie_za_vrabotuvanje, a Swiss government supported project.
The project is carried out by the Macedonian Fashion Association and the Association of Citizens for Cultural and Artistic Activities Odonata @odonata_association_. The project is implemented within the framework of the Regional Program for Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 – ReLOaD2 is financed by the Delegation of the European Union, Skopje, and it is implemented by the UNDP MK.
