Macedonian Fashion Association took a step towards promoting the protection environment by hosting a workshop focused on the ecological impact of stubble burning. Zoran Todorov from the NGO “For Healthy Life in Kochani” and students from “Vanco Prke” in Vinica came together to raise awareness about this detrimental practice.<\/p>\n
According to agriculturers harvesting rice in Kochani yearly, we have 15 000 tons of straw and 5 000 tons of husk.<\/p>\n
Stubble burning, a traditional method used to clear agricultural land, now poses a significant danger to the environment. The workshop highlighted modern agricultural technologies that minimize plant mass on the surface, promoting efficient harvests. Attendees explored creative solutions such as using straw and husk waste for biogas production, making hummus, biomass harvesting, and even heating. The session showed the importance of cross-sector collaboration to accelerate progress on the environment and other complex issues in a way that benefits everyone. By embracing sustainable alternatives, we can protect our environment while fostering innovation in the creative and fashion industry.<\/p>\n
