Irina Tosheva<\/a> is known for her fashion pieces and her desire to make changes through fashion, to enable quality, and to contribute to the economy, ecology, and harmony in society.<\/p>\n Our main task was to embroider the textile with the Shibori technique. The term “shibori” means “squeezing, turning, pressing.” The Shibori technique is considered one of the oldest dyeing techniques in Japan, dating back to the 7th century. Most often, the fabric is twisted, folded, sewn, or tied with the help of strings, ribbons, clamps, etc., so that the material acquires shades of the given color.<\/p>\n For this purpose, we have chosen sustainable cotton and dyed it with a rice husk, straw, onion, and turmeric. Irina Tosheva gave an excellent introduction to Shibori and how it’s done. Each participant received their material and a different coloring technique.<\/p>\n What’s our next step?
